Best AI visibility tools in 2026 (and how to choose)
AI visibility tools measure whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity mention your brand — the AI-era equivalent of rank tracking. The category is young and crowded. Full disclosure: Opinion Radar, our own product, is on this list. To keep the comparison useful, we start with the criteria that separate serious measurement from screenshots, then describe each tool by what it is best at.
What a serious AI visibility tool must do
- Query several model families. ChatGPT alone is not "AI visibility": models genuinely disagree. In our July 2026 database measurement, five of six model families picked PostgreSQL first — the sixth championed a different engine entirely. One-model tools miss the dissent.
- Repeat each question. Assistants are non-deterministic: the same prompt yields different answers on different runs. A tool that asks once reports noise. Look for sampling — rates computed over repeated runs, ideally with the sample size shown.
- Measure spontaneous mentions. "What do you think of brand X?" measures nothing — the model politely discusses whatever you name. The real question is whether the AI brings you up unprompted when a buyer describes their need.
- Let you verify every number. A share-of-voice figure you cannot drill down to raw answers is a figure you cannot defend to your board — or debug.
- Lead to action. Dashboards describe; the point is to know which sources the models cite, where you are absent, and what to fix first.
The tools
Opinion Radar — measurement-first, verifiable, bilingual
That's us — judge accordingly. Opinion Radar asks realistic buyer questions — never naming your brand — to six model families (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Le Chat, DeepSeek, Grok), several times each, then reads every answer systematically: spontaneous mentions, arguments, tone, factual errors, competitors named in your place. Every figure drills down to the raw answers. It adds what most trackers stop short of: a source map of the pages models actually cite, a technical crawlability audit of your site, and a prioritized action plan grounded in the measurements. Works in English and French. Our public observatories are real measurements you can inspect before paying — the method itself is documented here. Best for teams that want defensible numbers and a to-do list, not just a trend line. See pricing.
Peec AI — the SEO-team favourite
A European platform positioning itself as "AI search analytics for marketing teams", tracking brand visibility, position and sentiment across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, with competitor benchmarks and source analysis. One of the fastest-growing tools in the category: launched in February 2025, it claims 2,500+ brands and agencies and raised a $21M Series A in November 2025. Best for agencies and in-house SEO teams who want AI visibility alongside their existing reporting stack.
Profound — the category's unicorn
An enterprise-oriented platform for tracking and influencing how brands appear across AI answer engines — it now frames itself as "marketing agents" for AI search, and covers nine engines including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Overviews. Profound raised a $96M Series C at a $1B valuation in February 2026 (Lightspeed, with Sequoia and Kleiner Perkins) and cites customers such as Target, Walmart and MongoDB. Public pricing starts at $99/month billed annually for a single engine and 50 prompts — the platform's depth is aimed at enterprise budgets. Best for large organizations that need scale, SOC 2 and dedicated support.
Otterly.AI — the affordable entry point
A lighter-weight tool for monitoring how AI assistants answer a set of prompts you define, with brand and link mention tracking across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot (Gemini, Claude and AI Mode as paid add-ons). It has the lowest public entry price of the dedicated tools we checked: plans start at $29/month for 15 prompts (July 2026), with a 7-day free trial. Best for solo marketers and small teams who want a simple recurring pulse without a full measurement program.
Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit — AI visibility inside a SEO suite
Semrush's AI add-on brings assistant-answer tracking (ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini, Perplexity) into the suite many teams already use for search: 25 tracked prompts refreshed daily, competitor analysis and an AI site audit, at $99/month per domain billed annually — as an add-on to a Semrush plan or standalone. Best for teams standardized on Semrush that prefer one vendor over a specialized tool.
SE Ranking AI Visibility Tracker — the budget suite option
SE Ranking's AI module adds assistant-answer tracking (Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) to an affordable rank-tracking suite, as a paid "AI Search" add-on (about €79/month for 200 prompts) on top of a base plan. Best for small teams already on SE Ranking who want a first look at AI visibility.
Ahrefs Brand Radar — AI visibility on top of a crawl index
Ahrefs' AI visibility product — tagline "Make AI recommend your brand" — measures brand presence across AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini and Grok, backed by Ahrefs' index and a claimed 421M+ monthly prompts. Launched in beta in March 2025 inside existing Ahrefs plans, it is now a separate product at $398/month (select platforms) or $699/month (all platforms). Best for data-heavy SEO teams already invested in Ahrefs.
Newer entrants worth watching
The category is moving fast — three more tools crossed our radar while researching this piece (July 2026). Scrunch AI pairs monitoring with an "Agent Experience Platform" that serves a machine-readable version of your site to AI crawlers, and lists Lenovo and Skims among its customers. Evertune takes a statistics-first approach close to our own philosophy — each prompt sampled 100 times, across 10+ models — with enterprise-only pricing. AthenaHQ (Y Combinator W25, founded by ex-Google Search engineers) offers a free tier and paid plans from $295/month.

Public entry prices in the category (checked July 2026 on each vendor's pricing page) run from $29/month (Otterly) through $99/month (Profound, Semrush) to $398/month (Ahrefs Brand Radar), with several enterprise-only options above that — always verify current pricing before you buy.
How to choose
- Start from the decision you need to make. If the question is "do AIs recommend us, and what do we do about it?", you need spontaneous-mention measurement, cited-source analysis and an action plan. If the question is "add an AI line to our SEO report", a suite module may be enough.
- Ask every vendor the sampling question. How many times is each question asked, on how many models, and can you see the raw answers behind a figure? Vague answers here predict vague numbers later.
- Check the tool on a market you know. Run it where you already know the ground truth — if the output surprises you in ways you can't verify, that's the tool telling you something.
Whichever tool you pick: measure before you optimize, and re-measure after you act. AI answers move with model updates — visibility is a time series, not a snapshot. You can see what that looks like in practice in our public observatories, including which database AIs recommend and whether AI assistants recommend themselves.
FAQ
- What is an AI visibility tool?
- Software that measures whether and how AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity…) mention a brand in their answers: share of voice, sentiment, cited sources and competitors — the AI-era equivalent of rank tracking.
- Why does sampling matter in AI visibility measurement?
- Assistants are non-deterministic: the same question can yield different answers. A single run tells you almost nothing. Reliable tools ask each question several times per model and report rates across the sample, not one-off screenshots.
- Are AI visibility tools worth it for small businesses?
- If AI assistants influence purchases in your category, knowing whether they recommend you — or a competitor — is worth at least one measurement. Start with a one-off audit before committing to continuous monitoring.
